I was born in Rome, and am based in London. My short film, I, Rose has won Best Film Award at Screentest Festival. Semi-Finalist at Venice Shorts. My micro-short Unexpected has won Best Experimental Short Award at Creation International Film Festival, and Cinema World Fest Awards. Semi-Finalist at Aladerri International Film Festival. My new short film, Hear my Voice, a story I wrote myself, set in East London, is currently beginning its festival run. The film mixes autobiography and fiction, with a dreamlike/ fantastic element.
I have directed opera and theatre in the UK, and in Europe.
Directing work includes Il Segreto di Susanna at Teatro Verdi, Trieste, Italy; Cautionary Tales by Errollyn Wallen at Latitude Festival, UK; Aci, Galatea e Polifemo for the Göttingen International Handel Festival, Germany, and the London Handel Festival; the UK première of the play Purgatorio by Ariel Dorfman at the Arcola Theatre in London; Der Freischütz at Opéra de Metz and Opéra de Rennes, France; L’occasione fa il ladro by Rossini at Wexford Festival, Ireland, and the Royal Academy of Music in London; L’incoronazione di Poppea at the Grand Théâtre de Bordeaux, France (original production by Robert Carsen); La bohème at Opéra de Paris (original production by Jonathan Miller); My Feet May Take A Little While (based on the songbook by Errollyn Wallen), and a staging of Dichterliebe, both at the Arcola Theatre; the UK première of Ciboulette by Reynaldo Hahn at UCOpera in London; Così fan tutte for Mid-Wales Opera. I have also translated and directed the play The Fan, by Goldoni at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow.
I am volunteer Fundraising Manager for Fringe! Film Fest, a yearly LGBTQ film festival that takes place in East London.
